Overview:
- Sport Jujitsu: Participants will join in a detailed discussion covering the JA + USJA Sport Jujitsu competition format, rules, and scoring. Training matches will be run with trainee referees and officials playing in each role (Mat Referee, Side Referee, Match Timekeeper, Mat Timekeeper) with experienced JA officials shadowing the trainees and providing feedback and guidance, while competitors have an opportunity to take part in matches which are officiated according to the rules.

Trainee officials seeking certification will complete a written examination as the final step in the clinic. Those that pass the examination will receive a certificate after the clinic.

All Sport Jujitsu competitors are required to wear the following:
- White, Blue, or Black judogi

- Headgear is Mandatory for Children under the age of 14. Headgear is Optional for Adults.

Other Optional Equipment includes the following (all must be worn inside the uniform):
- Knee pads
- Elbow pads
- Forearm pads
- Chest protector

Kamp KaishinKai this year will be a series of workouts rather than a structured camp.
It includes time for the normal August PNW Regional Clinic as part of the Kamp schedule.
You may attend all or part of Kamp.


All participants are responsible for their own accommodations and food service.
Sleeping bags can be used in the dojo and tents may set up in the trees.

Kamp Update:

Janice Okamoto, 7th Dan life member of Jujitsu America and the American Jujitsu Institute will be teaching during part of Kamp KaishinKai this year. Janice will focus on Okazaki Long Life and basic back massage as well as Seifukujutsu healing techniques. Janice is a leader in the JA Massage certification program. This gives an opportunity for JA members to receive their JA National massage certification. JA membership is not required to attend the massage classes.

Ed Melaugh's Practical Street Self-Protection / Using Small Circle Jujitsu.
Will focus on transitional locking for the street and weapons defense against the machete.
If everyone could bring a machete dulled down and tape over the blade. (Sensei Melaugh will be bring machetes with him).
The machete is weapon of choice in the Boston area. A machete is considered a 'farming tool' and is not illegal to carry. The Police Department has seized a lot of machetes from local gang members.
