Jujitsu America proudly presents the 2010 JA Annual Convention!
In close partnership and collaboration, Jujitsu America and US Judo
Association are pleased to jointly host the JA/USJA Sport Jujitsu US
National Championship Tournament, with divisions for Sport Jujitsu,
Kata, & Freestyle Self-Defense. The Convention and Tournament
will be presented at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida, on Labor Day weekend (September 3-5, 2010)! We're
looking forward to seeing all our current JA and USJA members and instructors,
and hope to see many old and new friends interested in training, competing,
and the camaraderie of the event! This is an open event for members
and non-members alike and we warmly welcome all participants of any
age, style, and skill level!
International
travel to JA events in the United States JA staff advises anyone
who may need a visa to attend a JA event in the United States to apply early.
Visa applicants should apply at least 3 months in advance of the event. Security-related
policies have greatly increased the processing time for visa applications. U.S.
consular officers now usually interview applicants as part of the application
process.
If you need a letter of invitation, e-mail Eric Renner,
1st Vice President, to make your request (ekr5@mindspring.com).
General information about visas: The State
Department maintains a Web site about U.S. visa policy and procedures: http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov/
The U.S. State Department has required citizens from VWP countries to obtain
visas if they do not have machine-readable passports and they wish to visit the
U.S. One-time exemptions are no longer available to VWP nationals who do not possess
a machine-readable passport or a non-immigrant visa.
