Jujitsu America Weapons Programs


Jujitsu America offers certifications and oversight of education in the traits and characteristics of various weapons.

Weapons Principles Certificates

Jujitsu America sponsors three courses in General Weapons Training that are based on the principles and techniques common to a variety of weapons. Participants that successfully complete each course level will receive a corresponding Jujitsu America (JA) certificate of Proficiency. The three course levels are:

  • Basic Weapons Proficiency
  • Intermediate Weapons Proficiency
  • Advanced Weapon Principles

Specialized Weapons Training Workshops

Jujitsu America also sponsors focused workshops in Specialized Weapons Training that are based on the principles and techniques of a specific style or particular weapon. Participants that successfully complete each workshop level will receive a Jujitsu America Certificate of Basic (name-of-weapon) Proficiency . Intermediate and Advanced  workshop levels are also available. Workshops are taught by a Master Instructor proficient in that particular weapon and style. Specialized Weapons Workshops include

  • Bo- long staff
  • Jo- short staff
  • Katana- long sword
  • Knives- long and short
  • Baton- single, double. mixed
  • Nunchaku- single and double
  • Tonfa
  • Sai

Weapons Principles Instructor Certification

Jujitsu America sponsors instructor certification workshops that authorize the recipient to teach the three courses in General Weapons Training. Completion of the instructor Certification will allow the recipient to teach under the Jujitsu America Weapons Program and to recommend students for receipt of a corresponding Jujitsu America certificate of Proficiency.
